Ultra4 Roll out at King of France

Ultra4 Europe head to the south east of France, in the foothills of the Alps, for round two of the BFGoodrich Tires European Championship.

The series kicked off last month with a very successful King of Spain event at the new venue of Les Comes. The new venue through up many challenges for the drivers, not least the weather with the Prologue qualifying taking place in 28 degree sunshine and then day one of the main event took place in constant rain for the seven hour duration. With the conditions perfect on day two with dry, overcast conditions it was the Brit pairing of Jim Marsden / Steve Grant that came out with the King title after some consitent driving, overcoming the challenges of a number of punctures.

Marsden will be looking to consolidate the Team Gigglepin foothold on the top of the standings in France but will be inder pressure with the different format of racing from a number of drivers. Not least from Cedric Porcher / Noel Herve who will have home country advantge in France and will be looking to top the podium in front of his home crowd.

Another home country driver that will be looking to improve on their disasterous start to the season in Spain will be Team WSR's Nicolas Montador with Brit Kerry Hufton in the co-driver seat, the pair suffered early on with punctures and mechanical issues, despite setting a fast time in qualifying they barely managed a lap of the demanding circuit in the two 7 hour sessions.

The Centre Offroading Vallee Bleue is another new venue to the series for 2019 and will set the drivers its own challenges, The big Ultra 4 cars will hit the circuit on Friday afternoon for their prologue qualifying session along with the Everyman classes for a one lap blast. Saturday will see split session for Ultra4 and Everyman with each getting three, one hour sessions on track. Sunday will be followed by a one hour session each to get the day started and conclude with two hour and half sessions.

The address for the event is Centre Offroading Vallee Bleue, Rue de Couniolay, 38390 Montalieu-Vercieu, France. The next round sees the series head to the UK for the King of Britian at Walters Arena, Merthyr, Wales on19th to 21st July.
