Portsmouth MX Club - Annual Presentation

Portsmouth MX Club Annual Presentation

Southampton Novotel, 22nd November 2014

Despite 2014 being one of the toughest year’s the club has had to deal with, Portsmouth MX Club celebrated their rider’s achievements with an outstanding Presentation & Awards Ceremony.  The club welcomed 350 guests to the Southampton Novotel on Saturday, and the evening was enjoyed and appreciated by all who attended.

A lovely display of trophies was well appreciated by the guests and the club was honoured once again to have Shaun Simpson, a favourite with everyone at Portsmouth, to hand out the trophies to the riders.

The club would like to congratulate all the trophy winners, newly crowned club champions and perpetual trophy winners on the night.  It was a rewarding night for Shea Wylie and Luke Hayward, who not only claimed first and second in the Junior Championship respectively, the pair also walked away with the prestigious Rider of the Year award.  Both riders showed true sportsmanship throughout the season, and both were a credit to themselves, their family and their club, and the committee felt it was a just reward to award both riders with the trophy, plus an amazing canvas.

With the trophies out of the way, it was a pleasure to welcome back former member Aaron Morgan to auction Tommy Searle’s race kit, then the party started with the raffle, disco and photo booth in full swing into the early hours!

Thanks must go to Kay Turner and the Portsmouth Committee for organising the event, and to Kay, Martin Bradbury, Sherry & Steve Rogers, the Warren Family and all the Portsmouth committee and officials for all the hard work they have put in to running the club during the year.

The club would also like to thank all 2014 members and families for continuing to support the club and look forward to seeing everyone back for another year of racing in 2015.
