Young Junior rider Romeo Mead became the latest Portsmouth MX Club rider to be crowned as the Shaun Simpson Rider of the Meeting after his brilliant performance at the club’s meeting at Binsted.
Romeo has always been in the mix at the front of the pack, since starting in the Autos a few years ago, and since moving up into the Junior 65cc class at the end of last year, he has pushed himself hard to mirror his outstanding performances on the 50cc. At Binsted he focused on what he needed to do and after finishing in the top ten in the opening motos, some blistering speed came out of nowhere and he roared to the front of the field, finding himself in third place, a truly just reward for all his hard work and effort! Romeo always has amazing support on the sidelines from the family, and we hope he will continue to improve and possibly see him closing in on the podium at the end of the year! Brilliant, Romeo!!
Romeo was presented with a SS24 trophy, Simpson Army baseball cap, a SS24 poster, stickers, headwear liners by Drybrow, all kindly donated by Shaun, plus a voucher from Ironsight Paintball courtesy of Paul Dunford. Well done Romeo, be proud of what you have achieved and keep it going, you know you’ve got it in you!!!
