Oh, the friends and family...
All the memories going round
Round, round, round.
I have wished for so long...
How I wished for you today
What goes around comes around eh? Long live the 2-stroke, all hail the 2-stroke! Now firmly established after only three years as the only place for those motocross purists that still yearn for the sweet smell and sound of the 2-stroke engine this championship continues to grow in popularity. Not just because it’s unique 2-stroke only concept but also for its slick organisation.
“Our continued support of the Fuchs Silkolene British 2 stroke championship is testament to the quality and depth of this exiting series. We’ve seen the championship grow over the past few years and we’re extremely proud to be investing something back into the core of the sport.” – Richard Barrett, UK Marketing Manager – Fuchs Lubricants (UK) Plc
The nine round Fuchs-Silkolene 2-Stroke Championship allows the motocross enthusiast the opportunity to go racing and be competitive on a more manageable budget compared with the modern 4-stroke machine, but that doesn’t mean the racing isn’t serious. The nimble 2-stroke generates fast and aggressive racing and this series delivers. Off the track fun, nostalgia and pre mixed oil fills the air, for the many that race it’s simply a love affair that continues to make them feel young at heart. Who said romance is dead – not us that’s for sure!
The Fuchs-Silkolene championship racing is held over both days of a Red Bull Pro Nationals weekend. The Open class riders will be doing their thing on Saturday and then more than likely partying the night away at the Red Bull Party that night. The 125cc riders will have their three championship races on the Sunday alongside the pros. This allows the hardcore 2 stroke racer that wishes to ride both classes to do so without pushing it with six races a day. That is of course, if they can survive Saturday night’s party!
